SPRING SHARE
Tomorrow is the Spring Share starting at 2:30! Mrs. Lettera asked all first graders to wear a solid, brightly-colored shirt (a T-shirt is fine), a pair of shorts, skirts/skorts, and sneakers: no flip-flops, please.

FIELD DAY
Monday, June 1st is field day for first grade starting at 1:15-2:45.  Students should wear the colors of their team.

Red: Maddy, Max, Ellie, Ryan, Maggie

Blue: Thomas, Shane, Chase, Sydney, Kate

Green: Jamie, Dean, Brady, Caroline, Anna

Yellow: Isla, Christopher, Glen, Mia, Molly

Sunsational Reading starts Monday, June 1st!

Sunsational Readers

Dear Future Second Graders,

Congratulations on finishing first grade!  You learned so much and you have much to be proud of.   There are two parts to the first grade Sunsational Reading.   

Part One:  To get you in the mood for being a summer reader, we are going to have a Sunsational Reading Week during the last week of school.  Please bring in a beach towel and some of your favorite books from home.  You might also want to bring in a hat/visor, sunglasses, and a water bottle.  These items can be brought to school in your backpack or you might want to pack it all in a beach bag.  We will spend some time reading outside (weather permitting).  This will give you the chance to get some ideas of new books you might want to read this summer and also, it will give you practice in reading in the great outdoors (something we hope you do this summer). 

Part Two:    To help you keep track of your summer reading, you will find a summer reading calendar in your report card envelope.

We hope you have a great summer vacation.  Enjoy time with your family and friends and have fun playing and traveling.  Make sure you take time to READ!

Appreciation Collection

The first graders are working hard getting ready for our big spring concert. 

We hope to see all of our families on Friday, May 29th in the Common Room. The concert will begin at 2:30 pm.

In past years, we have asked each child to contribute $1 to be used for a gift for our two music teachers, Mr. Allen and Mrs. Lettera. The gift will be presented to them after the performance.

If you’d like to contribute, please send in $1 with your child by Friday, May 22^nd.  This will allow us time to collect, select, and purchase a gift.
